| | Our Newest Partnerships The STEAM Lab and Large Meeting Room have been generously funded by our two most recent partners. |
| The James R. and Bronnie L. Braswell Charitable Trust has awarded the Union County Library Foundation a $150,000 gift to fully equip a STEAM Lab learning space in SWRL. A STEAM Lab enables patrons of all ages and abilities to collaborate, create, design, and problem-solve. It is a place for programs and resources that focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The space will include a 3D printer, stop motion animation, textile crafting machines, sewing and embroidery machines, robots, video and audio recording/editing tools, engineering circuit kits, and coding computers. |
| A memorial gift of $100,000 was given by Missy and Ingram Walters, owners of Bob Mayberry Hyundai, for the Large Meeting Room. This gift is designated in memory of the late James Donald (Don) Kerr, an influential community leader in Union County. The Large Meeting Room, a dedicated community space at SWRL, will carry Mr. Kerr’s name —a fitting tribute in the community Mr. Kerr loved. |
