Introducing Our First Featured Space: The Early Childhood Literacy Center! |

Harris Teeter has proudly sponsored a space devoted to early literacy within the children’s area to nurture creativity, imagination, and curiosity. This space will also provide opportunities for programming involving grocery store shopping and food preparation, which will give children the opportunity to experience hands-on learning activities. This early literacy space would be a place where curiosity is explored, imaginations are sparked, and new skills are developed. Our "Every Child Ready to Read Curriculum," sponsored by the American Library Association and the Association for Library Service to Children, uses research-based techniques to teach parents and caregivers how to support the early literacy development of their children using the five early literacy practices of Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing, and Playing.
